You can make all of these recipes at home, and you'll be so happy you tried them. Plus: game day recipes all of your guests will love.
Tasty is all about teaching people easy ways to make delicious food. What's one piece of advice you would give to someone who says cooking is too hard? Whenever something seems too hard, I like to ask myself why I would want to do it in the first place. What's your why for cooking? Maybe you want to cook for others to show them you love them, or for yourself so you can have more control of what you put into your body, or to learn an important life skill to pass down to the next generation, or to impress guests at your next potluck dinner party! Whatever your why, once there's an intention in place, there will be a natural desire to cook. And then my tip would be to start simple. A fried egg (I love Tasty's video on how to perfectly cook eggs every time) over salad greens does count as cooking!
How do you compare the evolution of food in media from cooking shows to now digital platforms like Tasty? The reach and inclusivity of digital food media through platforms like Tasty are truly revolutionary. The fact that someone from Spain to Brazil to India to England can engage with the same content through their smart phones or computers is incredibly powerful. I like to think of it as a move towards food helping to connect people around the world, and Tasty is leading the way for sure. The approachability is another huge shift. Traditional cooking shows can feel long and didactic, whereas digital content seems more accessible, especially with the Tasty "hands in the pan" format, which really makes people think, "Wow I can make this!" and then they go make it for their families that very evening. That's amazing.
What's your favorite Tasty recipe you've ever made, worked on, or seen on social media? I recently did my first ever Tasty video for Easy Chicken Curry, and I have to say, it was so, so fun. This simple recipe (that I took creative license to modify so it would be ultra simple for a busy home cook) is actually my maternal grandmother's recipe. It incorporates so many healing, colorful, and flavor-packed spices, and is kid-friendly, which makes it perfect for the whole family. To be able to share it with so many around the world and see people making and enjoying it is an absolute dream. What's one ingredient you can't live without? Cayenne pepper LOL! So cliche I know but I am chiefspicemama and I must have my spicy pepper on pretty much everything except maybe desserts, though it's awesome with chocolate and ice cream too! ;) What are you most looking forward to doing with Tasty in this talent program? I am hugely passionate about helping people feel healthier through food. People think of eating healthy as a punishment, but it can truly be a delicious celebration! I am so honored and excited to be a part of this Tasty talent program and look forward to inspiring people to cook tasty, healthy food for themselves and their kids, and to use lots of healing, wonderful spices along the way.
